Job summary

Indigo Construction, LLC is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to lead underground utilities installation, including water, sewer, and storm drainage. This hands-on role ensures proper alignment, grading, and adherence to project specs on active sites.

The role requires experience with trench safety, reading plans, and working in a fast-paced construction environment. You will coordinate with excavators, use pipe lasers, and perform quality checks, with safety and teamwork at the forefront.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of pipe laying experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred; OSHA 10 certification a plus.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Physically capable of lifting and working outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Install pipe for storm/sewer drains and water mains with precision.
• Set up pipe lasers and read grade stakes to maintain line/elevation.
• Cut pipes to length and bevel ends as needed.
• Align and position pipes in trench using tools and hoisting equipment.
• Connect and seal joints using cement, glue, or mechanical couplings.
• Backfill trenches and compact soil to protect pipes.
• Coordinate with excavator operators and site crew for smooth installation.
• Follow safety procedures and use trench boxes for confined spaces.
• Maintain tools and site cleanliness; perform other duties as assigned.
