Job summary

RECONN Utility Services is seeking an Advanced Locate Technician to locate and mark underground utilities with safety and accuracy. The role requires mobile documentation, outdoor work in varying weather, and adherence to company procedures.

Training is provided, and the position offers daytime, full-time hours with possible overtime. Prior utility locating experience and a valid driver’s license are required to support local travel and job assignments.

Qualifications

• 1 year of utility locating experience required.
• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Available for overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to travel locally; some out-of-area travel may be required.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to stand/walk long periods; lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps, and prints; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities safely and accurately.
• Document each locate and complete required paperwork.
• Use company-provided laptop and smartphone to record locates.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions; report findings promptly.
