Job summary

GridHawk LLC in Michigan seeks Utility Locate Technicians to locate and mark underground facilities such as electric, gas, and fiber lines. You will use transmitters, blueprints and maps to verify locations and coordinate with customers.

Work may be done independently or in a team under supervision in all weather and terrain. Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, a valid state driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State driver's license required.
• Ability to problem solve.
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher prints.
• Ability to lift over 50lbs.
• Ability to walk/stand for multiple hours.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Pass a Background screening (no violations within the last 5 years).
• Pass a DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Locates underground facilities using a transmitter and maps to mark locations.
• Works in varied terrains and weatherconditions near construction sites and properties.
• Interprets job orders, blueprints and maps to plan routing and duties.
• Performs locates and on-call locates to meet customer needs.
• Communicates clearly with customers, coworkers and third parties to ensure safety.
