Job summary

USIC seeks a field locator to identify underground utilities across designated areas, using company vehicles and field tools to complete locate tickets with notes and photos.

These are daytime, full-time positions with a 48-hour turnaround on many locates and overtime/weekend/on-call shifts as needed. No prior locating experience is required, but experienced locators are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology and field equipment.
• Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
• Able to pass a drug screen (safety-sensitive position).
• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record, able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities safely and efficiently, including telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer lines; mark location and document each locate.
• Thoroughly search designated areas, accurately mark locations, complete documentation, and photograph each locate.
