Job summary

Peoples Gas System in Florida is seeking a Pipeline Locator to accurately locate and mark underground utilities, ensuring public safety and compliance with Sunshine 811 statutes. You will support the Damage Prevention Program by collaborating with internal and external partners and the public.

The role requires GIS map reading, operation of electronic locating equipment, and responding to excavation notices.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
• Minimum of 2 years of pipeline locating experience or ASME B31Q qualification.
• Ability to read GIS maps and follow complex instructions.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond to excavation notices following policy and state one-call requirements.
• Locate and mark underground assets using spray paints and flags.
• Operate locating equipment to map pipeline facilities within prescribed accuracy.
• Perform light excavation with hand tools as needed.
• Provide GIS map updates and facility record corrections to the GIS team.
