Job summary

USIC in Ohio is seeking an outdoors-oriented Locator to safely and accurately locate underground utilities across telecommunications, electric, gas, water, and sewer lines. You will work full-time in the field with a company vehicle and training provided.

No prior locating experience is required, though experienced locators are encouraged to apply; the role offers a starting wage of $20/hour, with higher pay for experienced staff, overtime, and benefits.

Qualifications

• Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Proficiency with technology.
• Available for overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts.
• Able to pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring.
• Able to read locate tickets, maps and prints.
• Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors and homeowners.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities safely and accurately.
• Search designated areas, mark locations, document each locate, and photograph as required.
