Job summary

R&J Utility in Tolleson, AZ is seeking an experienced estimator with strong ability to read civil plans for residential and commercial underground utility projects. You will estimate sewer, water, storm drain, dry utility and streetlight work, collaborating closely with the Project Manager.

The role requires at least 5 years in underground construction estimating, proficiency with takeoff software, and knowledge of MAG standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience in underground construction estimating.
• Experience in Water, Sewer, Storm Drain, Dry Utilities and Streetlights.
• Strong knowledge of MAG standards and local supplement specifications.
• Experience with software programs related to takeoff.
• Bilingual: Spanish (but not required).
• Proficient in MS Office: Excel, Word, Adobe.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Critical-thinker and problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple bids per week and meet strict deadlines.
• Complete accurate quantity take-offs per plans and specifications.
• Create and coordinate project estimates, proposals, and bid documents.
• Create accurate and detailed cost estimates for underground wet and dry utility projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Obtain and compare vendor and supplier pricing.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and customers.
• Additional duties include: ordering, scheduling, and bluestake.

We specialize in residential underground utility work including sewer, water, storm drain, dry utilities and streetlights. We are seeking an experienced estimator with a thorough knowledge of the estimating process and a strong ability to read civil engineering plans for residential and commercial jobs. Your main responsibility will be to estimate work for sewer, water, storm drain, and dry utility and streetlight projects. In this job, you will be an integral part of our team and work closely with our Project Manager.

Responsibilities
