Job summary

H. T. PROF Group is seeking a motivated Project/Civil Engineer to join our Underground Utility Construction division.

You will support planning, coordination, and execution of water, sewer, storm drain, gas, and dry utility projects from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to ensure safety, on-schedule delivery, and budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of civil/underground utility construction experience.
• Knowledge of underground utility systems preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings and plans.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, scheduling, and execution of underground utility projects.
• Review plans and contract documents for compliance with standards.
• Prepare submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with surveyors, subcontractors, and utility locators for field layout.
• Support cost tracking and budgets to maintain project costs.
• Monitor daily field progress and maintain logs and as-built records.
• Assist with project scheduling updates using project management software.
• Collaborate with PMs and supers to resolve field issues and constructability.
• Ensure safety standards and OSHA compliance on all sites.
• Support permit tracking and regulatory compliance.
