Job summary

SG Development & Consulting, Inc. Georgia is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, and related heavy machinery on underground utility and site development projects.

You will read plans, perform trenching and grading, and work with pipe crews and supervisors to ensure quality and safety. Requires at least two years’ experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass background screenings for secured sites.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and grade stakes.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to obtain site access and pass background screenings when required.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy construction equipment (excavators, backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, rollers, etc.).
• Perform excavation, trenching, grading, and material handling for underground utilities.
• Excavate around existing utilities with proper clearances and minimal risk of damage.
• Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and project specs.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment and materials.
• Follow all safety policies and OSHA regulations and participate in safety meetings.
