Job summary

Kanaan Communications, LLC is seeking a Locator II to mark and locate underground utilities, ensuring safety and efficiency on projects. You will read maps, document locates, and coordinate with excavators and utility personnel.

Responsibilities include handling complex locates, field troubleshooting, and occasional overtime. A valid driver’s license and six months locating experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months locating experience.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Operate detection equipment to locate and mark standard and complex utilities.
• Read utility maps to locate underground utilities accurately.
• Document all locates in the system.
• Respond promptly to excavation notices with courtesy.
• Communicate effectively with excavators and utility staff.
• Troubleshoot difficult locates and assist with high-profile cables.
• Light digging with a shovel when needed.
• Work overtime, travel, and on-call after hours as required.
• Perform duties in all weather conditions.
