Job summary

Peabody Energy seeks an Eng Tech/Survey UG to join the Gateway North Mine operations team in Coulterville, IL. The role covers underground and surface surveying with Total Station, GPS, and drones, and involves mapping and basic engineering calculations for production reports.

The position is based at Gateway North Mine with a Monday–Friday day schedule, possible weekends. Benefits include healthcare and 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificate of Competency (Face Papers) or Miners License required.
• Experience with surveying and safety regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain surveying instruments (Total Station, Level, GPS, Drone).
• Perform underground and surface surveying duties and mapping (ventilation controls, levels, property boundaries).
• Record mine data for production/engineering reports.
• Assist in air, water, and reclamation monitoring and sampling.
