Job summary

Peabody Energy seeks an Eng Tech/Survey UG for Gateway North Mine in Coulterville, IL. The role covers underground and surface surveying, data collection, and mapping using Total Station, Level, GPS, and drone technologies.

You will work a day shift with potential weekend requirements and contribute to safety, compliance, and environmental standards. The position offers benefits, 401K matching, and health plans.

Qualifications

• Requires operating skills on multiple mining section equipment (continuous miner, roof bolter, haulage).
• Knowledge of state and federal mining regulations for underground mining.
• Certificate of Competency or Miners License issued by the working state.
• High school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain surveying instruments (Total Station, Level, GPS, Drone).
• Perform underground and surface surveying, including boundary and ventilation levels.
• Record mine data for production and engineering reports and assist in monitoring air and water quality.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and support mapping tasks.
