Job summary

Magnolia Plumbing, LLC is seeking a motivated Underground Site Utility Salesperson to grow our sales pipeline in the DC metropolitan area. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, preparing estimates and proposals, and building strong client relationships to drive revenue and profitability.

The ideal candidate has prior sales experience, strong communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage contracts and pricing while aligning with company goals.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or trade-related education preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related sales experience; 5+ years preferred.
  • Journeyman trade license or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong conversational, financial, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prepare contract proposals and maintain sales tracking software.

  • Meet or exceed sales, profit, and growth objectives.
  • Pursue leads and create new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and bids, including pricing and margins.
  • Coordinate with Operations to schedule and complete sold work.
  • Negotiate prices and obtain approvals for higher-value opportunities.
  • Review contracts, payment terms, and change orders as needed.
  • Maintain accurate sales tracking and use company software.

Magnolia Plumbing, LLC is seeking a motivated and results-driven Underground Site Utility Salesperson to join our team. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, preparing accurate estimates and proposals, building strong client relationships, and driving sales growth. The ideal candidate has experience in a sales environment, strong communication and analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate and convert opportunities into sales while meeting company sales and profitability goals.

Responsibilities
  • Meet or exceed company-established sales, profit, and growth objectives.
  • Aggressively pursue company-generated leads and opportunities while creating new leads to generate business for the company.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Prepare accurate and timely estimates, proposals, and bids, ensuring material, labor, overhead, and profit are properly considered.
  • Review project scopes of work and contract values to ensure accurate estimating and pricing.
  • Stay current on material pricing, labor costs, overhead factors, and market conditions.
  • Negotiate, set, accept, or change selling prices for opportunities up to $50,000; obtain approval from the Head of Sales and Marketing for opportunities above $50,000.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Profit Center Managers to establish schedules and ensure the timely completion of sold work.
  • Obtain signed contracts and review payment terms with clients.
  • Collect down payments and assist Accounts Receivable with collections as needed.
  • Prepare and issue change orders as necessary.
  • Compare actual job completion times with estimates to maintain accurate and current labor information.
  • Ensure all additions and deletions to jobs are accurately included in estimates.
  • Ensure all clients are approved by the Head of Sales and Marketing prior to quoting.
  • Follow all company policies, sales procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain accurate sales tracking and contract proposal information using company software.
  • Adjust the daily schedule as needed to accommodate opportunities and lead requests.
  • Attend required training sessions and meetings.
  • Maintain a professional image and provide exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree or trade-related education preferred.

  • Strong conversational, financial, analytical, observational, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to negotiate and successfully convert opportunities into sales.
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, including the ability to prepare contract proposals and maintain sales tracking software.
  • Knowledge of general business mathematics.
  • Ability to read, write, spell, and communicate clearly in English on technical and business topics.
  • Ability to work effectively in office, factory, industrial, commercial, and construction environments.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk, as well as carry/lift tools, use ladders, access roof hatches, and work in confined spaces as required.
