The Project Engineer provides administrative and technical services in scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and general project administration. Along with job site project managers and superintendents, engineers oversee overall project aspects and may be assigned to specific sections, subcontractors, or facets of the project.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Tunneling Group on high-profile projects, assisting in planning, organizing, and controlling various elements of the job.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers in purchasing activities, including scoping and take-offs.
• Participate in safety training and engage in Atkinson's safety culture.
• Attend daily/weekly meetings and field inspections, promoting safety and communication.
• Develop strong working relationships with craft personnel, inspectors, subcontractors, vendors, and the project team.
• Monitor project needs, deadlines, and procurement lead times to prioritize tasks.
• Provide accurate information and notices to stakeholders.
• Investigate issues, ask questions, gather input, and propose solutions.
• Track and update quantities for budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
• Review invoices and ensure timely payments to subcontractors and vendors.
• Prepare supporting documentation for change orders and requisitions.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Wastewater/Water construction projects.
• High initiative, independence, responsibility, and integrity.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
• Reliability and teamwork orientation.

Atkinson offers a comprehensive compensation package, including base salary, bonuses, health benefits, paid time off, retirement plans, and additional perks. The salary range for this role is $80,000 to $135,000.
