Job summary

Branch Civil is seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to install and maintain underground pipelines for road construction. The role reports to the Pipe Foreman and requires careful measurement, trench preparation, and adherence to safety procedures.

Responsibilities include laying out routes, cutting and aligning pipes, sealing joints, and ensuring slopes meet specifications. The job emphasizes teamwork, punctuality, and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years of underground pipe laying experience.
• 2–4 years of road construction experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable of pipe laying techniques.
• Ability to meet deadlines with a sense of urgency.
• Detail oriented and works well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Install sanitary and storm water sewer structures and pipe systems.
• Lay out pipe routes, following specifications or blueprints, and coordinate layouts with supervisor.
• Cut pipes to required lengths.
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction.
• Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
• Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers.
• Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue.
• Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices.
• Cover pipes with earth or other materials.
• Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools.
• Other general labor and construction related duties as required.
• Promote and adhere to the company's safety program.
