Job summary

Eagle Mine LLC is seeking a qualified Mining Support Geologist to provide technical expertise across geology, planning and rock mechanics in support of underground mining operations.

Responsibilities include mapping, sampling, ore classification, weekly planning, geotechnical inspections, and collaboration with operations to address ground control and safety issues. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with MSHA regulations are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering or equivalent required
• 3-5 years of experience in underground mining
• Strong critical thinking and decision‑making skills to apply practical judgment
• Exposure to mine design software (Deswik, Vulcan) preferred
• High proficiency with MS Office Suite required
• Awareness of MSHA act and regulations
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Perform face and scanline mapping to document geological and structural conditions
• Collect muck samples and track, interpret assay and production data for ore classification and ore/waste calls
• Assist in preparation of weekly mine plans supporting monthly production targets
• Conduct geotechnical inspections and document ground conditions and ground support performance
• Use empirical, numerical, and analytical methods to assist in design and evaluation of ground support and stope geometries
• Perform quality control testing on ground support and backfill elements
• Maintain accurate technical records, databases, maps, and reporting systems
• Collaborate with operations personnel to address ground control, safety, performance and compliance issues
• Assist with surveying, ventilation, drill & blast, and other engineering projects
