Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation is seeking an Underground Mine General Supervisor to lead front-line operations in a high-risk hard rock environment. You will drive safe, efficient development, production, and rehabilitation activities while ensuring compliance with MSHA, Nevada regulations, and company standards.

You will manage crews, coordinate planning, quality control, and reporting, and coach personnel to maintain a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence in a rotating shift

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• MSHA Part 48 underground training required or ability to obtain before starting underground work.
• Minimum of six (6) years of underground mining experience; at least three (3) years in a supervisory role.
• Experience leading underground crews in development, production, ground support, drilling and blasting, mucking, haulage, or rehabilitation.
• Strong knowledge of MSHA requirements, Nevada safety standards, and site procedures.
• Ability to interpret mine plans, ground support standards, and shift priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead underground crews to safely achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets for development, production, rehabilitation, and construction.
• Plan, prioritize, and assign work for drilling, blasting, ground support, bolting, scaling, mucking, haulage, and mine services.
• Conduct pre-shift meetings, communicate objectives, review conditions, and ensure crews understand the plan before starting.
• Coordinate with Mine Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Geology, Safety and other groups to meet plans and priorities.
• Verify crews are trained, competent, and equipped; ensure proper task training and site-specific requirements.
• Maintain strong field presence to inspect headings, reinforce standards, and resolve issues safely.
• Identify, report, and mitigate hazards related to ground conditions, equipment, and traffic management.
• Oversee pre-operational inspections, document deficiencies, and ensure proper equipment usage and maintenance.
• Partner with Maintenance to prioritize repairs and support efficient execution of the mine plan.
• Ensure compliance with mine designs, ventilation, barricading, permits, and standard operating procedures.
• Promote hazard recognition and stop-work authority to maintain a proactive safety culture.
• Lead in a high-risk, fast-paced underground environment with clear communication and accountability.
• Prepare shift reports, production updates, safety observations, and other operational documentation.
