Job summary

Hecla Mining Company is seeking an UG Mine Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in underground workings. You will support continuous mining operations while prioritizing safety and regulatory compliance, collaborating with engineers, safety personnel, and other trades to minimize downtime.

The role requires a licensed electrician with underground mining experience and the ability to read schematics, interpret blueprints, and use CMMS tools.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and components used in mining operations.

Responsibilities

• : Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in underground mining operations.
• Diagnose electrical issues using specialized tools and equipment, and implement effective solutions promptly.
• Ensure all electrical work complies with federal, state, and local safety regulations and mining industry standards.
• Collaborate with mining engineers and safety teams to plan and execute electrical projects and maintenance schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and enhance system reliability.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Respond to emergency electrical failures and provide timely repairs to minimize operational disruptions.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of safety protocols related to electrical systems.
