Job Overview:R B Hinkle Construction Inc is seeking a reliable and physically capable General Laborer/Groundsman to support our construction projects. This role involves a variety of manual tasks to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, as well as assisting skilled tradespeople on site.Job Responsibilities-Perform general site clean-up, including sweeping, raking, and removing debris.Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks and trailers.Assist with the setup and teardown of construction sites, including placing safety cones and barriers.Operate and maintain basic hand tools and power tools under supervision (e.g., shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, leaf blowers).Perform groundskeeping duties such as mowing, trimming, and weeding on construction sites and surrounding areas.Dig trenches and holes as directed.Assist skilled tradesmen (carpenters, masons, etc.) with various tasks as needed.Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and report any malfunctions.Transport materials and equipment around the job site.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.Job Qualifications-High school diploma or GED preferred.Prior experience in a construction or landscaping environment is a plus, but not required.Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs. regularly), standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.Strong work ethic and a positive, team-oriented attitude.Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites preferred.
