Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry level Class C Lineman Underground to join our construction, maintenance and repair teams working on electrical underground distribution systems. The role involves safe, hands-on work at various locations and may require travel to another state.

You will assist with stringing wire, setting poles, installing transformers and switches, and performing high voltage work under supervision.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of minimum field experience.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
• Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work outside of the normal work schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime as required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground work.
• String underground wire.
• Setting poles and anchors.
• Assists with installing transformers, lightening arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches and switchgear.
• Assists in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.
