Job summary

Barminco Mining Services USA LLC is seeking an organized HSE Coordinator to join our Nevada-area project. You will implement occupational health, safety and environmental programs, coordinate day-to-day safety initiatives, and lead audits, risk assessments and incident investigations to promote Barminco's safety culture.

Based at a project location outside Elko, NV, the role reports to the Project Manager. The 14-days on/14-days off rotation includes on-site accommodation and meals.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years’ relevant experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Certificate in MSHA required.
• Ability to prioritize workload with urgency and outcomes.
• Strong professionalism in fast-paced, cross-cultural environments.
• Knowledge of HSE legislation and Barminco client safety systems.
• Valid Driver’s License; manual transmission an asset.
• Effective communication skills at all levels (verbal & written).
• Proficient in MS Word & Excel; databases.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Barminco HSE policies and Mining Safety Act.
• Perform safety inspections and write reports with recommendations.
• Develop and distribute HSE reports and presentations.
• Conduct periodic audits of HSE programs and sites.
• Maintain records to meet requirements.
• Coordinate communications between injured employees, management, and medical providers.
• Provide on-site inductions for contractors.
• Manage critical registers (inspections, hazard boards, equipment).
• Conduct workplace inspections across sites.
• Provide HSE training and assess competence.
• Mentor crews through safety learnings.
• Attend operations meetings and provide input.
• Review and realign procedures as necessary.
• Ensure accuracy of information in INX and CHESS databases.
• Maintain professional relations with employees and partners.
