Job summary

Primoris Services Corp. is seeking an Underground HDD Operator for the Lufkin, TX area. The role involves operating underground horizontal directional drilling equipment and related machinery, while maintaining a safe work environment and performing routine maintenance.

You will assist skilled laborers, prepare trucks and materials, and help ensure all loads are secured and compliant with regulations. This on-site role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in heat or cold conditions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate with all crew members.
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures.
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor in varying temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Operate light and heavy equipment used for underground HDD projects.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Fuel, prepare trucks and materials for jobs; inspect and secure loads.
• Assist with emergency roadside repairs and daily vehicle inspections.
• Follow directions from crew leaders and supervisors; ensure all required documents are current.
• Perform hand digging and other labor-intensive tasks as needed.

Other duties may be assigned.* Operation of light and heavy duty equipment. Maintains preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment.* Maintains safe working environment* Assists skilled laborers & laborers when needed* Fueling & maintain equipment* Prepares trucks, materials for job* Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.* Keep trucks & equipment clean* Does daily visual inspections & weekly written inspections when driving vehicles.* Loads and unloads truck.* Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water and requests repairs as needed.* Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs and tire chains.* Positions blocks and ties rope around items to secure cargo during transit.* Makes sure all necessary documents are current in truck i.e. registration, inspection and insurance cards.* Follow directions from crew leaders & supervisors* Hand digging and related jobs that require physical labor* Manual labor- is able to handle heat & cold temp* Responsible to assist w/emergencies**Competencies** Ability to safely excavate and bore near existing utilities**Qualifications** To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
