Job summary

FiberTel, LLC is seeking an Underground Foreman to oversee crews on underground utility construction projects. Responsibilities include operating machines like skid steers and excavators, training crew members, and ensuring safety protocols are followed on site.

The role requires several years of underground construction experience, maps/blueprints reading, and strong safety knowledge. Pay ranges from $28 to $36 per hour, DOE, with full-time hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in underground construction.
• Ability to read maps, plans, and blueprints and convey this information to others.
• Experience operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of proper operation and safety standards of heavy equipment.
• 1-3 years’ experience operating heavy machinery, including loaders, dozers, backhoes, and excavators.
• Traffic Control Maintainer certificate.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license.

Responsibilities

• All phases of underground construction including loading, digging, and material handling.
• Load, unload, transport material, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain safety standards and proper site housekeeping.
• Operate heavy equipment safely and perform daily safety checks.
• Identify utilities in trench/bore paths and coordinate with inspectors.
• Submit time cards and daily reports; keep prints and as-builts up to date.
• Train new laborers and operators on processes and job functions.
