Job summary

TAK Broadband is seeking an experienced Underground Construction Laborer for De Pere, WI to install, repair, and test fiber networks, including splicing and configuring cabling. This full-time role requires CDL Class A and will involve travel up to 50% with overnight stays as needed.

We offer a full benefits package, PTO, paid training, and a 401(k) with company match. Compensation ranges from $20 to $24 per hour, DOE, with safety as a top priority.

Qualifications

• Prior underground and/or aerial construction experience preferred.
• Ability to learn to operate various utility vehicles and equipment.
• Ability to multi-task and shift between tasks.
• Open to a variety of schedules; evenings/weekends as needed.
• Willing to travel up to 50% with overnight stays as needed.
• Ability to work outdoors in tight spaces or elevated up to 70% of the time.
• Ability to work near moving parts, electricity and powerlines; risk of shock.
• Must provide a government-issued photo ID; a driver’s license if driving.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain aerial and underground telecommunications cabling.
• Assist in all phases of underground construction including loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of materials and equipment.
• Manage maintenance equipment including power equipment, trucks, ladders.
• Operate heavy equipment and machinery.
• Maintain safe working habits and work conditions according to regulations and company policies.
• Follow safety standards throughout processes.
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
