Job summary

TDS Telecommunications Corporation seeks a Fiber Construction Technician in Delavan, WI to support outside plant fiber builds, including buried and aerial work, with safety at the forefront. You will have the opportunity to obtain a Class A CDL through our in-house training program and gain hands-on experience with equipment like bucket trucks and trenchers during on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Must have valid driver's license and be eligible for DOT requirements.
• Ability to obtain a Class A CDL through in-house training.
• Climb poles, ladders, towers, and other structures as needed.
• Must pass Safety Training and customer-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs general construction labor for outside plant fiber builds in various weather.
• Transports construction equipment to and from the worksite.
• Places aerial and buried fiber per maps and locate markings.
• Uses hand tools, cable locators, and test equipment.
• Installs enclosures, vaults, pedestals, and handholes.
• Climbs poles and operates bucket truck when required.
• Marks fiber facilities and completes paperwork in a timely manner.
• Assists field services technicians and performs maintenance.
