Job summary

The Greens Creek Mine, operated by Hecla Mining Company, seeks a support miner to operate and maintain underground construction and road equipment on Admiralty Island, 18 miles south of Juneau, AK. You’ll begin with MSHA training and daily safety inspections, then work independently on a remote island mining site with various shift schedules.

You must troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and hydraulic systems and be proficient in welding and fabrication.

Qualifications

• MSHA training provided within first 4 days on the job.
• Able to troubleshoot and maintain mechanical and hydraulic systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain underground construction and road maintenance equipment.
• Inspect workplace and equipment every morning for safety and readiness.
• Prioritize daily work and plan tasks before starting.
• Perform welding and fabrication as required on equipment and structures.
• Work independently on a remote island mining site and adapt to camp living conditions.
