As the Underground Electrical Utilities Field Supervisor, you’ll drive safety, quality, and productivity while mentoring the next generation of craft leaders.What You’ll LeadInterpret TxDOT, City of Austin, and engineered drawings; verify survey control, grades, and layout accuracy.Set up survey instruments, identify control points, and confirm TBMs to validate installation alignments.Direct trenching, potholing, conduit runs, and ground box placements to spec; manage concrete crew activities.Operate/supervise saws, tampers, and excavation equipment; ensure safe use and proper upkeep.Enforce safety daily: briefings, pre-task hazard analyses, PPE, OSHA compliance, trench and confined space safety, and traffic control.Coordinate with inspectors, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to overcome field challenges and deliver quality work.Oversee material staging, deliveries, tools, and equipment allocation for efficient site logistics.Track labor and production using HCSS on iPad; complete timecards, material logs, haul tickets, and daily reports.Coach Laborers, Operators, and Leadmen on technical skills, safety, and career pathways.Lead incident reporting and investigations; collaborate with Safety on corrective actions and risk reduction.Participate in D10 meetings; report progress and support the Superintendent with planning, scheduling, and documentation audits.Resolve conflicts in layout, schedule, or quality; maintain strong relationships with inspectors, PMs, and clients.Perform traffic control and flagging when needed to protect crews, equipment, and the traveling public.What You Bring5+ years in underground utilities with prior crew lead/supervisory experience.Expertise in underground electrical work, concrete, trench safety, and traffic control standards.Ability to read civil/electrical plans and specs; familiarity with TxDOT, OSHA, and MUTCD.Comfort with digital timekeeping/production tracking (HCSS preferred).Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.OSHA 10 required; OSHA 30, Competent Person (Excavation), and Confined Space preferred.Sign-On BonusThis role is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus (taxed as applicable). Frequent standing, bending, and kneeling with physically demanding tasks for extended periods. Regularly lift/carry up to 50 lbs.; occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
