Job summary

Utilities One Group in Portland, OR is seeking an experienced UG Operations Supervisor to oversee in-house underground drilling crews, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across regional operations.

The role requires extensive travel (80%+), hands-on training, and coordination with regional leaders. A CDL and OSHA/NCCER certifications are a plus; a strong safety culture is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on underground drilling experience.
• Strong HDD, potholing, and utility locate knowledge.
• Experience training or mentoring UG crews.
• Ability to read construction prints and jobsite plans.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel across multiple states.
• OSHA 10/30 certifications or NCCER a plus.
• Valid driver's license (CDL a plus).

Responsibilities

• Daily oversight: supervise underground drilling operations for safety and quality.
• Training and onboarding: lead on-site training for IH crews.
• Safety compliance: enforce safety standards and conduct audits.
• Quality control: review bore logs and path integrity against specs.
• Problem-solving: coordinate field issues with operations and PMs.
• Documentation: maintain records and produce reports.
• Communication: align with regional directors, foremen, and PMs.
