Job summary

Utilities One Group is seeking an experienced UG Operations Supervisor in Salem, OR. You will oversee in-house underground drilling crews, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. The role requires heavy travel (about 80%) across the region, with a company vehicle and travel expenses provided.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on underground drilling experience.
• Knowledge of HDD, potholing, safety protocols.
• Experience training or mentoring UG crews.
• Ability to read construction prints and jobsite plans.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Willingness to travel regionally.
• Certifications in OSHA 10/30, NCCER are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus).

Responsibilities

• Daily Oversight: supervise and inspect underground drilling ops for safety, quality, and specs.
• Training & Onboarding: lead on-site training for IH crews and safety.
• Safety Compliance: enforce safety standards and conduct toolbox talks.
• Quality Control: review bore logs, restorations, path integrity.
• Problem-Solving: act as first contact for field issues and delays.
• Documentation: maintain records and provide reports to leads.
• Communication: collaborate with Regional Directors, Foremen, and PMs.
