Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or better.
• 1-2 years in underground drilling operations including cable/fiber construction practices.
• Knowledge of depths and placements.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments with variable weather and noise levels.
• Exposure to traffic, vibration, moving machinery, electrical hazards, and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Operates horizontal directional drill for installing conduit and cable to customer design.
• Operates Min-Ex/trencher for installing conduit and cable to customer design.
• Completes as built maps to customer specifications.
• Possible underground hand digging, setting pedestals, vaults and pulling cable.
• Work with, train and delegate duties to laborer.
• Maintain equipment per safety guidelines and service requirements.
• Attend safety meetings and follow safety rules.
