Job summary

Utilities One in Moorestown, NJ seeks a Manager of Underground Construction to lead in-house underground drilling operations across the region. You will ensure safe, efficient, high-quality execution, coach crews, and drive continuous improvement.

This role requires up to 80% travel and involves coordination with directors and project managers. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in underground construction, HDD/potholing expertise, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of underground drilling or construction experience.
• Progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Knowledge of HDD, potholing, utility locating, restoration.
• Ability to read construction drawings and permits.
• Willingness to travel 80%+; valid driver’s license.
• OSHA 10/30, Competent Person, NCCER or similar certs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and inspect underground drilling operations for safety, quality, and schedule.
• Provide on-site training and onboarding for crews.
• Enforce safety standards and conduct safety audits.
• Coordinate resources with regional leaders to allocate crews and equipment.
• Maintain records and prepare reports.
• Communicate project objectives and drive continuous improvement.
• Resolve field issues to maintain timelines.
