Job summary
Utilities One seeks a Manager of Underground Construction to oversee in-house drilling operations across the region. You will lead field crews, ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery, and travel extensively within the region. A company vehicle and travel expense coverage are provided.
The role requires 5+ years in underground drilling/construction, strong leadership, and ability to coordinate multiple teams while complying with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee underground drilling operations ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Lead on-site training and onboarding for crews, focusing on best practices and equipment operation.
- Enforce safety standards through site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks.
- Review bore logs, restoration practices, and fiber/copper path integrity to meet client specs.
- Coordinate with Regional Directors, Project Managers, and Foremen to allocate crews and resources.
- Serve as primary contact for field issues and delays to keep projects on track.
- Maintain records of inspections, crew performance, and field observations; report to leadership.
- Collaborate with leadership to align objectives and drive continuous improvement.
