Job summary

Pramira Inc. in Brea, CA is seeking a skilled Foreman to lead outside plant construction crews. You will supervise trenching, equipment operation, and safety compliance on diverse projects.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years as foreman, CDL preferred, ability to read blueprints, and stamina for long hours in variable weather. Pramira offers health, retirement, PTO, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two or more years’ experience as a foreman.
• Two or more years’ experience operating machinery in standard and high-risk areas.
• One year experience operating a RT80 trencher or similar.
• Knowledge of highway traffic control standards.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment, including mini excavator, skid steer, trench machinery, directional drill operation, backhoe, and larger trenchers/plows.
• Load, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment safely.
• Locate cables in accordance with blueprints and identify utilities in the area.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections and maintain equipment.
• Complete required documentation and ensure safety practices.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Foreman is a member of our outside plant division, directed by the Construction Manager, accountable to ensure accuracy related to tasks and follow all policies and procedures related to safety, quality and production.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Operate construction equipment, including but not limited to a mini excavator, skid steer, trench machinery, directional drill operation, backhoe, and large trenchers and plows.
• Load, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment in a safe manner
• Locate cables in accordance with blueprints
• Identify marked and/or unmarked utilities in the construction area
• Perform pre and post operation inspection of the equipment; ensure routine equipment maintenance is performed per service requirements and safety guidelines
• Hand dig utilizing shovel and/or other mechanical tools as required
• Organize materials and basic hand tools necessary to complete excavation requirements
• Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the job site
• Complete all required Company documentation
• Other duties as assigned
• Must always comply with proper safety standards/procedures and work practices while operating equipment according to Pramira’s safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Two or more years’ experience as a foreman
• Two or more years’ experience operating machinery in standard and high-risk areas
• One year experience operating a RT80 trencher or similar
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred
• Knowledge of highway traffic control standards
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Knowledge of utility depths and placement
• May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
• Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 75 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
• Ability to work in various settings with moderate to loud noise levels.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Ability to work in trenches, tunnels, and manholes
• May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
• Must pass a Drug Test & Background Check
