Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. seeks a Cable Splicer to construct and repair electrical underground systems, on energized and de-energized lines. Travel to various job sites, including out-of-state locations, may be required. Reports to the Foreman.

The role emphasizes safety, with responsibilities to train apprentices, lead crews, and perform live-line work using gloving and hot-stick techniques. Outdoor work in all conditions is expected.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of underground experience.
• Valid CDL required.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended periods at job locations, including out-of-state assignments.
• Willingness to work outside normal hours, including weekends, holidays, overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de-energized underground systems.
• Lead crew members in the absence of the Employee in Charge and conduct pre-job safety briefings.
• Train and mentor apprentices and groundmen.
• Install and repair underground power and related hardware.
• Operate backhoe, bucket trucks, and digger trucks.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions and during outages or emergencies.
