Job summary

Heidelberg Materials North America is seeking a Blaster Helper for an underground limestone mine. You will assist with explosive preparation and detonation, work from elevated basket positions, and use hand and power tools to support blasting operations.

The role requires safety-minded individuals willing to work 10–12 hour days, six days a week when needed, with overtime potential. A punctual, reliable candidate with transportation is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle and transport explosives safely.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical capability to meet job demands (standing, lifting up to 75 lbs).
• Willingness to work overtime, Saturdays, and long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and detonation of explosives.
• Work from a man basket at heights of 25' to 50', hand scaling and face loading.
• Use hand and power tools to support blasting operations.
• Safely handle and transport blasting materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of blasting equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Support blasting team with various tasks as needed.
