Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an explosives handler to join our blasting team in an underground mine environment in the U.S. You will assist with preparation and detonation of explosives and work from a man basket at heights of 25' to 50'.

Expect to use hand and power tools, perform equipment maintenance, and ensure strict safety protocols. Overtime and Saturdays may be required, with a competitive hourly rate and sign-on bonus.

What You'll Be Doing

Assist with the preparation and detonation of explosives.

Work from a man basket at heights of 25' up to 50' performing hand scaling, markup and face loading activities.

Use a variety of hand and power tools.

Handle and transport explosives safely.

Perform routine maintenance and inspections of blasting equipment.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.

Support the blasting team with various tasks as needed.

What Are We Looking For

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.

Ability to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms background check

Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing.

Work Environment

Role operates primarily in an underground mine where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment and elevated noise level.

Work area is underground in a limestone mine with room opening heights of 27' tall.

$25.00/hr with an additional $1.00/hr underground rate

$2,000 Sign-On Bonus paid out in two installments (6 months and 1 year)
