Job summary

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Blaster Helper for an underground limestone mine in Torrance, PA. The role involves assisting with explosives preparation and detonation, performing hand scaling, and operating hand and power tools.

You will work in an underground environment with heights up to 50 feet, requiring strict safety adherence and teamwork. Overtime and weekend work may be required; compensation includes an underground rate and a sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and detonation of explosives.
• Work from a man basket at heights of 25' to 50' performing hand scaling and face loading.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools.
• Handle and transport explosives safely.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections of blasting equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
• Support the blasting team with various tasks as needed.
