Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) offers a cohort-based internship in Research Computing within the Computing and Information Technology organization. Interns join small teams, paired with mentors and project stewards, for 10–12 weeks with possible extensions.

Start dates are in May or June 2027, with projects spanning ML tooling, AI environments, HPC optimization, cloud templates, and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be enrolled as degree-seeking undergraduates at an accredited college or university
• Must be taking at least 6 credit hours and maintain a 3.0 GPA
• Preferred to be pursuing CS, Data Science, Cybersecurity, IT, HCD, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

• Join cohort-based internship with team mentors and project stewards
• Work on strategically important projects with real deliverables
• Engage weekly with senior leadership and present final成果 to the Directorate
• Develop cloud, ML, or software solutions in a team setting
• Attend workshops and Lab tours to broaden exposure to research computing
