Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) offers a cohort-based internship in Research Computing. Interns work in small teams with mentors for 10 to 12 weeks, starting May or June 2027. Masters-level interns may take on additional responsibilities alongside a mentor, in software, data engineering, or IT/cloud tracks.

You will gain exposure to HPC, cloud computing, and collaboration with researchers, engineers, and leadership, with a structured program and dedicated support.

Qualifications

• Must be matriculated/enrolled in a Master’s program at an accredited college or university.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
• Preferred: degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Human-Centered Design, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field; GPA 3.25+.

Responsibilities

• Interns work in small teams with mentors on cohort-based projects.
• Assignments run 10 to 12 weeks with the possibility of extension.
• Starting in May or June 2027; Masters-level interns may take on additional responsibilities.
