Job summary

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) invites undergraduates to join a cohort-based internship in Research Computing. Participants work in small teams with mentors and project stewards on real deliverables in 10–12 week assignments starting May or June 2027.

You will gain exposure to HPC, GPU compute, cloud services, and software engineering practices, with weekly leadership briefings and a final Directorate presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher.
• Undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited college or university.
• Take at least 6 credit hours with a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Responsibilities

• Work in small teams with mentors on cohort projects.
• Assignments run 10–12 weeks with May/June 2027 start.
• Weekly leadership briefings and final presentation to Directorate.
• Mentored by a full-time mentor; includes coaching sessions, workshops, and tours.
• Exposure to diverse career paths in research computing through collaboration with scientists and leadership.
