Job summary

Allied Universal in West Columbia, SC is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed - Screener to protect clients in tech/telecom environments. You will manage entry controls, verify credentials, and maintain a visible, professional presence for employees and visitors.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• A background check is required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the location by verifying credentials, issuing visitor and contractor passes, maintaining entry records, and directing authorized individuals to appropriate areas.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entrances, exits, lobby areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and reports, communicate professionally with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership, and follow escalation procedures.
