Job summary

Allied Universal in Houston, TX is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time patrol credential review role. You will monitor and safeguard tenants, visitors, and clients, performing unarmed patrols, access control, and customer service across a premier commercial property.

The position requires a background in security or law enforcement, strong communication, and the ability to respond calmly to incidents. Training and advancement opportunities are provided by Allied Universal.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor/manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Guard Card/license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Background histories considered lawfully.
• Drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies, and assist with emergencies as needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building common areas, parking facilities, entry points, business areas, and property perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures and report unauthorized access or maintenance issues.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and follow reporting/escalation procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity logs and incident reports with a professional presence on the property.
