Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a full-time Security Officer in Richmond, VA, offering a steady schedule and a $19.00 hourly pay rate. You will perform site-specific security procedures, patrol the facility, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and complete detailed shift reports.

Ideal candidates have a Guard Card or license preferred, CPR/First Aid preferred, and are 18+ (unarmed) / 21+ (armed). A background check and drug screen are required by law.

Qualifications

• Guard Card or license preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and vendors at a technology-focused location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site policies, verify credentials as required, and report unauthorized access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating to appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
