Job summary

Security Engineers, Inc. is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Tennessee to patrol facilities, monitor access, and respond to alarms. The role requires weekend availability, basic reporting via tablets, and compliance with state licensing requirements.

Applicants should have a HS Diploma or equivalent, with preference for those holding a Tennessee Unarmed Security License. Training is provided, and advancement opportunities are available within a privacy-conscious environment.

Responsibilities

Conditions of Employment

Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of a post-offer background investigation and a drug screen. Because this position supports safety-sensitive licensed private security operations, a criminal background check may be required by law.

$14.57-$15.50/Hr.

Job Description:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• TN Unarmed Security License
• Must be able to work weekends (Saturday, and Sunday).

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular walking patrols to enhance safety and identify/report concerns.
• Monitor facility access points; verify IDs and credentials.
• Monitor surveillance feeds for signs of threats or breaches.
• Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents using established protocols.
• Maintain accurate logs of activities, incidents, and observations.
• Perform routine tasks: locking/unlocking doors and managing security systems.

Customer Service & Policy Enforcement

• Assist visitors and employees, address concerns professionally.
• Enforce security procedures per Security Post Instructions.
• Ensure compliance with SEI and Client policies (e.g., smoking, loitering, parking).

Minimum Qualifications:

• The State of Tennessee requires that you must have or obtain and maintain a valid Security Officer/Guard License when providing any regulated activities in the State of Tennessee
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Required Skills & Abilities:

Minimum:

• Ability to perform in high-paced, potentially stressful environments.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
• Strong situational awareness and curiosity.
• Ability to stay calm, problem-solve, and act effectively in critical situations.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use a tablet for reporting.

Preferred:

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand for at least 1 hour without support or break.
• Sit for at least 1 hour without break.
• Walk a minimum of 1/2 mile without stopping.
• Climb at least 20 commercial facility stairs without stopping.

• Preferred:
• Education: HS Diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 2+ years of Verifiable Customer Service
