Requirements include a valid NYS Security Guard License, at least one year of security experience, and a high school diploma. The role emphasizes professional service, reporting, and teamwork within a government location.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, undergo a background investigation as required by law.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at a government social services location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building perimeters, entry points, common areas, and parking areas as applicable.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry when required, and report unauthorized access or suspicious conditions.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and daily activities through required reports, logs, and electronic reporting systems.
