Allied Universal in the Wilkes-Barre area is seeking a part-time Security Officer – Unarmed Patrol Support to protect staff, patients and visitors at a healthcare facility. You will perform site-specific security procedures, respond to incidents, and help maintain a safe environment.

This role emphasizes customer service, observation and clear reporting, with weekend evening shifts and a $18.07 per hour pay rate.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, patients, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating with site contacts and/or public responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and manage the flow of visitors, vendors, and staff in accordance with location protocols and security‑related requirements.
• Support Allied Universal standards by reporting hazards, maintenance concerns, and policy violations observed during patrols and routine assignments.
