Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Readiness in Ashburn, VA to serve and safeguard clients across government and other sectors. You will conduct routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The role emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and calm response to incidents, with day shifts and a pay rate of $18.87 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• A guard card or license preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and other members of the school community while following site-specific procedures and security-related policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity; report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other events, following emergency procedures and contacting appropriate personnel as needed.
• Prepare clear incident reports and daily activity documentation; communicate information to school administration and Allied Universal leadership.
