Job summary

Atrium Health seeks a full-time Security Officer for the Charlotte Public Safety team. You will patrol interior and exterior areas, respond to emergencies, de-escalate incidents, and protect patients, visitors, and staff.

This position features 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends, a sign-on bonus eligible, and a pay range of roughly $21.85–$32.80 per hour. A CHSO certification within two years and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.
• Experience responding to emergent situations and resolving issues posing risk to patients, visitors, teammates, or property.
• Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) must be obtained within two years of appointment.
• A valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides security services with a customer-service approach, professionalism, fairness, and compassion.
• Maintains a professional, approachable appearance and demeanor to inspire confidence.
• Performs interior and exterior patrols, identifying hazards and ensuring safety and security.
• Enforces safety and security rules and regulations; responds to service calls and incidents.
• Assists with de-escalation and, when necessary, use of force in accordance with training.
