Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Security Officer to deliver professional security services with a patient-centered approach in a hospital environment. You will patrol, respond to incidents, and support staff and visitors while ensuring safety and order.

The role requires eligibility for a sign-on bonus, a valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications within specified timeframes. Excellent communication and de-escalation skills are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Typically 1 year of security/public safety or customer service experience.
• Must pass background check, drug screen and pre-employment requirements.
• Certifications listed must be obtained within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide security services with a professional, courteous approach in line with policies.
• Patrol interior and exterior areas to identify hazards and enforce safety rules.
• Assist patients, visitors, and staff with information and directions.
• De-escalate conflicts and respond to emergencies as needed.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders as required.
• Document and report incidents promptly and accurately.
