Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Security Officer to provide professional security services across our facilities in Winston-Salem. You will respond to emergencies, de-escalate potential threats, and protect patients, visitors, and staff as a frontline resource.

Responsibilities include patrols, incident reporting, coordination with law enforcement, and ongoing collaboration with clinical teams to maintain a safe environment. Hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service.
• Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Collaborates with medical staff and external law enforcement as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide security with a professional, fair, compassionate service per policies and training.
• Patrol interiors and exteriors to identify hazards and ensure safety.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents; de-escalate conflicts.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and first responders as required.
• Deliver security awareness education to staff and partners.
• Assist with traffic control and crowd management within the facility.
